2010 Contractors Challenge: Motivate, Reward, Recognize!

NECA is launching the Contractors Challenge to encourage NECA members to provide a program for their employees to participate in the educational and networking opportunities available at NECA 2010 Boston.

“The success of my company is a direct result of the things I learned at past NECA events. I think it’s a good investment to send our young people to the NECA Convention and Show. The training our people get at NECA just isn’t available anywhere else, and it gives me a chance to reward them for working hard through the year.”
– Rex Ferry, NECA President

WHAT IS THE CONTRACTORS CHALLENGE?
The Contractors Challenge is an employee-performance recognition program. NECA members can customize the performance criteria to match their company’s unique goals and challenges.

The Contractors Challenge was proposed by NECA President Rex Ferry as a way for members to get the most benefit for their companies from their participation in the NECA Convention and Trade Show. President Ferry encourages NECA members, large and small, to adopt their own Contractors Challenge to bring their employees to NECA 2010 Boston.

HOW DOES THE CONTRACTORS CHALLENGE WORK?
It’s simple. What do you value in your company employees, and how can you recognize those employees who put forth extra effort? Sending them to the NECA Convention isn’t just a way to motivate and reward your employees; it’s a direct benefit to your company since these employees bring what they learn back home. Everyone wins!

INVEST NOW FOR LONG-TERM SUCCESS
The Contractors Challenge wants to help you get your employees excited about working for a NECA member company. At NECA 2010 Boston, they will clearly see the benefits NECA brings to its members, and what those benefits and education mean for them as company employees. They will be more satisfied with their jobs, learn how to work more efficiently, and become invested in your company’s overall success – becoming just the kind of people you want working for you!

“I don’t think that a person truly sees what our industry is all about until you can have the opportunity to understand the ‘people’ side and the ‘financial’ side. We always try to get one or two of our field managers or project managers to the convention each year. It’s necessary for the long-term success of our business.”
– David Lantz, Dimond Electric
