Description

To help contractors design, implement, assess, and continuously improve their Pre-Task Planning (PTP) process, CPWR has developed a comprehensive, all-in-one PTP package. In this session, learn what this package has to offer including checklists, templates and practical examples to help you through the process. CPWR will also discuss their developed Electrical Task Analysis Documents that contain task-specific challenges, hazards, and applied solutions compiled directly from field interviews and onsite observations.

    Babak Memarian

    CPWR - The Center for Construction Research and Training

    Dr. Memarian is the Director of Safety Research at CPWR – The Center for Construction Research and Training. He currently leads a NIOSH-funded project titled “Prevention through Augmented Pre-Task Planning” that aims to enhance the quality of Job Hazard Analysis and Pre-Task Planning in construction, particularly in electrical construction. He holds a Ph.D. in Construction Management from Arizona State University and an M.S. in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Construction Engineering & Management from Oklahoma State University. His research interests involve development of high-reliability work systems with a focus on safety & health, risk management, and production improvement. He is an active member of the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) and a voting member of the ANSI/A10 Construction Safety and Health Standards Committee. Dr. Memarian is also a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST).

    Sara Brooks

    CPWR - The Center for Construction Research and Training

    Sara B. Brooks, MPH, is an industrial hygienist at CPWR – The Center for Construction Research and Training. Her professional focus is exposure assessment and the translation of research into practical resources. She currently manages CPWR’s Exposure Control Database, a web-based tool that estimates exposure to four key hazards including silica, welding fumes, lead, and noise. She holds a Master’s in Public Health with a concentration in Environmental and Occupational Health from the University of Pittsburgh and a B.A. in Spanish from Carnegie Mellon University. She is currently a member of the ANSI/ASSE A10.1 – Pre-Project & Pre-Task Safety and Health Planning revision subcommittee, and sat on the ANSI/ASSE A10.49 – Control of Chemical Health Hazards in Construction and Demolition Operations revision subcommittee. She is also certified in Environmental Health Risk Assessment.
