Planning for a time when you’re no longer running your business can be overwhelming. This session will discuss how you can avoid frustration, taxation and litigation when the time comes to exit your business. The need for business in estate planning, what happens when there is not a plan in place, and how to receive the most value will also be discussed.

  • Stewart Van Duzer

    Federated Insurance

    Stewart Van Duzer is a 1st Vice President, Director of Special Projects – Risk Management at Federated Insurance. His primary focus is on Federated’s risk management, estate planning, and business succession attorney network.

    Stewart began his career at Federated Insurance right after graduating college in 1983 as a Marketing Development Trainee. He first became a Marketing Representative in Gainesville, FL in August of 1984. He was promoted to a District Marketing Manager in 1992 then to a Regional Marketing Manager in 1996. Since then he has had numerous other Leadership positions within Federated. He was promoted to a Director of Field Operations in 2001, Director of Home Office Marketing in 2006, Director of Special Accounts Marketing in 2011, Director of Field Operations (second stint) in 2017, then to his current position of 1st Vice President Director of Special Projects – Risk Management in January 2022.

    Stewart currently resides with his wife Gloria in Chattanooga, TN and enjoys spending time with his family, new granddaughter, boating, and golfing.

    Evans & Davis

    Landon Long has an active estate planning practice for individuals and families, from simple trusts or wills to multi-generational wealth transfer and preservation with significant income and estate tax planning.

    Landon’s growing corporate transactional practice is accentuated with hundreds of successful negotiations and closings of business transactions and real estate deals, in varying sizes up to large transactions with $100M+ in total value.

    Landon graduated Magna Cum Laude with dual degrees in Political Science and Business Management. Landon obtained his Juris Doctorate Degree, graduating in the top third of his class.

    Landon was awarded several honors and distinctions, including the American Jurisprudence Award for obtaining the highest honor in Professional Responsibility in his class. Landon has also contributed over 100 hours of pro bono service to clients in need through various local and civic organizations.
