Description

General contractors and subcontractors can utilize data to achieve mutual understanding and fairness during contract review. This session will show the most common pitfalls in negotiations and project execution, and then reveal strategies for successful outcomes. ELECTRI and Document Crunch research will be leveraged to touch on the current state of the market and help contractors understand where they stand against their peers when it comes to contract risk and how to make informed decisions about the contracts they are signing.

    ELECTRI International

    As Executive Director of ELECTRI International, the Foundation for Electrical Construction, Josh Bone guides the Foundation’s research and education agenda to ensure it remains a vital resource for the entire electrical construction industry. He began as Interim Executive Director in April 2020, before being installed as its permanent Executive Director on October 1, 2020.

                        

    Bone joined NECA in October 2019 as Executive Director of Industry Innovation. In this position, he was responsible for implementing, training and presenting construction technology solutions to electrical contractors nationwide.

                        

    Bone started his career working with design teams, then transitioned into helping construction professionals leverage technology in both the preconstruction and construction phases. He has had the opportunity to work on hundreds of projects throughout his career, where he has delved deep into the VDC process. He has also shared his knowledge with audiences and publications across North America as a frequent professional speaker, guest editorial contributor and podcaster

    Josh Levy currently serves as the CEO of Document Crunch, a contract compliance and intelligence platform for the construction industry. With a strong leadership background and expertise in construction law, Josh co-founded Document Crunch to bring his extensive experience to the field. Josh graduated with honors from the University of Florida, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management. He also holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of Miami, graduating with high honors. These educational achievements, coupled with his professional experience, have shaped his vision for Document Crunch and his desire to raise the standards of the construction industry.

    ArchKey Solutions

    Joe Barnard is the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of ArchKey Solutions/Sachs Electric as well as the Corporate Vice President of Special Projects for ArchKey Solutions.

    In his 30-plus-year career (all at ArchKey Solutions/Sachs Electric), he has been the executive, directed and/or managed projects in commercial, institutional, manufacturing, retail, industrial, and healthcare facilities including data centers, commercial and retail developments, airports, power plants, hospitals, and medical facilities. He has both regional and national experience in all project delivery types. Joe specializes in operational process improvement, contract management, labor relations, resource management and business strategy.

    Joe has served on many industry organizations and committees. He is currently an Executive Board Member and Treasurer of the St. Louis Chapter of NECA. He sits on the IBEW-NECA Joint Labor Management Committees for IBEW Local 1. He is a trustee for IBEW Local 309 Pension Trust as well as IBEW Local 1 Health and Welfare Fund. Additionally, Joe is on the Board of Directors for the Gateway Region YMCA.

    Joe holds Master Electrician and Electrical Contracting licenses in numerous jurisdictions across the country. Joe holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville.
